Rasterization

While a color image may be Presented from a single 8-bit, 16-bit or 24-bit raster object, it is also common to generate color images from sets of three 8-bit raster objects where one raster object provides the red component , the green one, and one the blue.

Rasterization is the process of converting vector graphics to image bitmap. During rasterization, Illustrator graphics to change the path in pixels. We specify rasterization options that determine

size and other characteristics of the resulting pixels.

We can rasterize individual vector objects using the Object> Rasterize Rasterize command or effect. We can also rasterize entire document by exporting to bitmap formats, including JPEG, GIF, or TIFF.

Raster effects are effects that result in pixels rather than vector data.

Raster effects include SVG Filters, all the effects at the bottom of the Effect menu, and Drop Shadow, Inner Glow, Outer Glow, and Feather command in Exchange a> Stylize submenu.

Every time we apply a raster effect, Illustrator uses document raster effects settings to determine image resolution generated. This setting has a huge impact on the work of art generated, therefore, important to examine the effects of raster settings documents before we start working with filters and effects.
